Step 1 Wash the green moong dal and then soak it in water for 5 hours. You can soak it overnight. Step 2 After soaking, put the green moong dal in a pressure cooker and cook 3 whistles (or about 9 minutes). Step 3 Mash the moong dal to puree using a hand blender. Add a cup of water while blending. Step 4 Heat olive oil in a frying pan. Add cumin seeds. When the seeds start sizzling, add the asafoetida and cook for about 2 minutes. Step 5 Add in the mashed dal along with a cup of water, green chili pepper, crushed black pepper, and salt. Step 6 Mix well and boil on low heat for about 5 minutes. Then turn off the heat and add lemon juice. Garnish with coriander leaves, mix well, server and enjoy!
