These diabetic-friendly turkey burgers are as juicy and flavorful as they can get. The combination of zucchini Greek yogurt and spices make them especially delicious!
Step 1 Prepare the sour cream sauce: In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, sour cream, lemon zest and lemon juice, 1 crushed garlic clove, olive oil, sumac, ½ tsp. of salt and ½ tsp. of ground black pepper. Mix well and put in a fridge. Step 2 In a large bowl, mix the minced turkey, zucchini, egg, spices, crushed garlic, chopped scallions, cilantro, and mint. Make 4 patties from minced meat. Step 3 Pour 3/4”of vegetable oil into a large skillet. Fry the patties on both sides over medium heat until golden brown, adding oil if needed. Step 4 Preheat oven to 430 F. Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Put the patties on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 5-6 minutes until they are fully cooked. Serve warm with a spoonful of sour cream sauce on the plate, or make burgers (follow the steps 5-7). Step 5 Put the halves of the buns on the frying pan, on which you fried the chicken. Warm the buns up until the they get crispy on the outside. Step 6 Place 1-2 lettuce leaves on the lower bun. Then put the turkey patty on the leaves. Pour sour cream sauce on the patty. Step 7 Put the tomato slices and onion rings on top of the turkey patty and cover with the top bun. Serve and enjoy!
