81 yr old woman - sinus irritation stuffy nose for over a month. Allergy medicine did nothing. Benadryl relieved symptoms. 1. Doctor did not look up nose - yet dismissed sinus infection. 2. Made no observation of mucus, a key indicator of bacterial infection in nose.
Prescribed Flonase - Info Drugs.com Do not prescribe if: 1. Sores or ulcers inside of nose Doctor never looked in nose. and admitted he did not. 2. diabetes - mother takes medicine to control sugar. 3. a weak immune system - she is 81... 4. any type of infection bacterial, fungal, viral, or parasitic - How did the Doctor rule these out? My mother had Covid just 4 months prior. Again they offered no treatment. She almost went to Hospital Christmas Eve though she tested positive days before, again they offered no real treatment after testing positive for Covid - Then when the chance THEY might have to work on Christmas they prescribe Doxycycline - she felt better in an hr.
Flonase does not cure anything. It is an immune suppressant. Both myself and my mother have taken it before. It Appears to help for a day, then sinuses get more inflamed. Despite these concerns Dr. Keith refused to take any other course of action... If you want a thorough Doctor who stops an illness before it progresses - see someone else.
