Recipe Details:
Although many pickled onion recipes involve sugar, in this diabetic-friendly recipe we sweeten the pickled onion with honey that gives the onion an exceptional flavor.
Step 1 Place honey in a warm place for 20 minutes. Step 2 Peel the onions and cut into rings. Step 3 Place the onions into a glass container with a lid (pour boiling water over the glass prior to putting the onion in the container). Step 4 Pour the honey into a glass and microwave it for 5-7 seconds. Step 5 Add red wine vinegar to the honey, then stir and pour into the glass container with the onion. Step 6 Add white wine vinegar and black pepper to the glass container with the onion. Mix well. Then close the lid and put in the fridge for 3 hours. Step 7 Take the onion out of the fridge and serve with any meat of your choice. Enjoy!
