Recipe Details:
A perfect restaurant worthy diabetic-friendly dish for a special occasion dinner.
Ingredients:
Marbled rib eye steak – 1 lb.
Champignon mushrooms (cut in halves) – 1/3 lb.
Fresh thyme – 1 sprig
Olive oil – to taste
Coarse sea salt and ground black pepper – to taste
Step 1 Heat a grill frying pan (the pan should be heavy-bottomed). Step 2 Wash the meat and tap it dry with a paper towel so that the steak is fried, not steamed. Step 3 Brush the steak with olive oil on both sides and rub with coarse sea salt. Step 4 Place the meat in the hot frying pan and fry for 1 – 1½ minutes on one side. Then add the mushrooms around the steak, so that they cook in parallel with the steak and become ready at the same time. Step 5 Turn the steak over. (All the juices will remain inside due to the resulting crust.) Step 6 After another 1 – 1½ minutes, turn the steak for the third time to obtain a beautiful cross-stripe pattern from the grill bottom of the frying pan. Step 7 Reduce the heat to a minimum for the steak to begin to fry, but not burn. Step 8 Fry the steak for 3 minutes, flip to the other side again and fry for 3 more minutes, then remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for about a minute. Step 9 Put the steak on a plate, add sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, and a sprig of thyme, then put the mushrooms on the plate. Serve and enjoy!
