Delicious and colorful Brussels sprouts fried with pecan nuts and sesame seeds are an excellent diabetic-friendly side dish for any fish and meat dishes.
Step 1 Pour 750 ml of water into a saucepan and bring the water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoonful of salt, bring to water to a boil again and put the Brussels sprouts in salted boiling water. Step 2 Boil fresh Brussels sprouts for 7 minutes, frozen Brussels sprouts for 3 minutes. Drain water after cooking. Step 3 Heat olive oil in a frying pan, put pecan nuts and sesame seeds in the frying pan and cook for a minute, stirring occasionally, until the nuts caramelize. Step 4 Put the Brussels sprouts in the pan with the pecan nuts and sesame seeds and sprinkle with 1 pinch of salt. Step 5 Fry the Brussels sprouts for 1 more minute, while stirring and shaking the pan. Turn off the heat, cover the frying pan with a lid and leave for 5 minutes. Step 6 Put the cooked Brussels sprouts with the pecan nuts and sesame seeds to a large plate, sprinkle with dried cranberries, serve and enjoy!
